Originally founded by Pennie Pan in 2015, Steam King's culinary style is deeply rooted in Cantonese traditions, thoughtfully adapted to suit Australian palates. Renowned for its signature soup dishes, such as “Double Steamed Silky Fowl Soup in Whole Coconut” and “Original Buddha's Delight,” Steam King has swiftly gained recognition as one of Sydney’s treasured destinations for authentic Cantonese cuisine.
Growing up in Guangzhou (Canton)—the birthplace of the celebrated Cantonese cooking style, known for its emphasis on fresh ingredients, balanced flavors, and light seasoning—Pennie cultivated a profound appreciation for this culinary heritage. With a passion for sharing the authentic tastes of true Cantonese cuisine, she brought her expertise to Sydney, captivating diners with her creations. After a successful decade running Legend Steam King, a second dining destination, Royal Steam King, was established under a new partnership, aspiring to redefine the dining experience for its patrons.
